Why Wait When We Offer Same Day Crowns

It’s hard to deny the benefits dental crowns offer in regards to restoring your smile. Dentists use them to cover the imperfections caused by broken, cracked, worn, or severely decayed teeth. When shaded to match your natural tooth color and fashioned by an expert, it’s hard to tell a crown from a natural tooth.

Unfortunately, it takes several office visits and lots of patience to have traditional crowns molded, formed and fitted. Luckily, Same-day crowns offer all the benefits of traditional crowns but take advantage of advanced computer-aided technology to speed up the process. One visit is all it takes.

At First Impression Dental in Fresno, California, Dr. Brett Lent and our expert team are renowned for their dedication to providing outstanding oral health care that’s patient-focused and stress-free. Same-day crowns crafted via the CEREC® Primescan AC platform is one of the many dental services we offer to keep your smile healthy and your life on schedule.

What is a CEREC same-day crown?

The CEREC (chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics) platform incorporates advanced computer-aided technology that allows our First Impression Dental team to create and place customized, high-quality dental crowns, veneers, and inlays or onlays in a single visit.

Unlike traditional crowns, which are created in an outside lab, CEREC dental restorations are fashioned here in our Fresno office. This means we can prep your tooth, create the crown, and fit it in place on the same day.

What are the benefits of same-day crowns?

Even though we’re proud of our beautiful, family-friendly setting here at First Impression Dental, we understand what it’s like to squeeze several office visits into your busy schedule. Many of our patients choose same-day crowns for the time savings alone.

There are other benefits to consider as well, however, when contemplating CEREC same-day crowns, which include:

No messy impressions required

Traditional crowns require an impression or mold crafted from gooey material that, once dry, the dental lab uses to fashion your new crown.

With CEREC, Dr. Lent uses an intraoral camera to capture 3D images and measurements of the targeted tooth or teeth. From these images, he creates a digital template that the computer-driven CEREC machine follows to mill your crown to the correct shape and size.

Durability and natural appeal without the wait

CEREC same-day crowns are fashioned from high-quality dental porcelain carefully shaded to match your natural tooth color and appearance. Like traditional crowns, same-day crowns can last for 25 years or more.

No need for a temporary fix

With traditional crowns, once the damaged tooth has been prepped, measured, and molded, your dentist covers it with a temporary crown. This protects your remaining tooth structure and root until the permanent crown is ready, which can take several days to weeks.

Once it’s arrived from the lab, you must return to have the temporary crown removed and the permanent replacement attached. CEREC same-day crowns are permanently cemented over the targeted tooth the first time.

For a same-day, high-quality crown that’s a perfect fit for your smile, schedule a visit at First Impression Dental today. Call the office to speak with a friendly team member or request an appointment online.
